The need for advanced analytics is growing substantially as enterprises fast-track their digital transformation initiatives. To unlock new levels of analytics sophistication, businesses are quickly turning to the cloud to achieve faster results at enterprise scale. In fact, according to Gartner, end-user spending on public cloud services is projected to increase by more than 18 percent in 2021 to total $304.9 billion, up from $257.5 billion in 2020.
There are many impressive solutions on the market today that are helping businesses accelerate their cloud data projects. However, the security and privacy needs of the business can often become a barrier, preventing data and analytics professionals from unlocking the value of cloud technologies. What’s more, traditional data protection methods can have a significant performance impact on queries, slowing down mission-critical analytics projects.
Protegrity understands the massive potential of cloud technologies such as Snowflake and Amazon Redshift to accelerate enterprise data initiatives. To help our customers drive innovation in the cloud – while ensuring sensitive data is protected wherever it resides – we recently released the latest advancement of the Protegrity platform: Cloud Protect on AWS, a cloud-native, serverless data protection solution.
Serverless Data Security – Better, Faster, Cheaper
Serverless computing is taking the technology world by storm. At its core, serverless computing describes a computing scenario where the cloud provider runs the server and allocates machine resources on demand. This leads to a compute environment that can automatically scale up or down, with attractive pay-as-you-go pricing.
Leveraging the elastic scaling capabilities of serverless compute service AWS Lambda, the new Cloud Protect on AWS solution seamlessly protects and unprotects data in cloud environments with minimal performance overhead. In fact, some of our customers have seen 10x performance increases compared to other data protection solutions on the market. With consumption-based pricing, our customers are saving not only time, but money on monthly compute costs.
Support for Snowflake and Amazon Redshift
As part of the rollout of Cloud Protect on AWS, we have announced support for two of the most popular cloud data warehouses on the market today: Snowflake and Amazon Redshift. Developed in collaboration with Snowflake and Amazon Redshift, Cloud Protect on AWS allows organizations to perform analytics on sensitive data in cloud data warehouse environments. Additionally, we’ve launched a general purpose REST API for Cloud Protect on AWS, allowing customers to easily integrate Protegrity’s advanced data protection into ETL data pipelines in the cloud.
Cloud Protect on AWS is an important milestone as we continue to deliver on our mission to protect the world’s most sensitive data, wherever it resides. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be announcing additional support for our serverless data protection technology across our partner ecosystem.
